Student research opportunities

Industrial solar cell hydrogenation (ENGN4200, taken for 2015)

Project Code: CECS_1069

This project is available at the following levels:
Engn4200, Engn R&D, Honours, Summer Scholar
Please note that this project is only for undergraduate students.

Keywords:

silicon, PV, passivation, hydrogenation

Supervisor:

Dr Andrew Thomson

Outline:

In this project you will attempt to improve the efficiency of commercially fabricated solar cells by hydrogenating them via three methods, 1) annealing in hydrogen containing ambient, 2) exposure to a hydrogen containing plasma, and 3) hot plate annealing and oven baking of cells coated with a hydrogen-containing polymer.

Please email me directly to apply for student projects.
